A NEW Huddersfield brewery is up and running.
A Holmfirth man has joined forces with his brother to create their own beers.
Richard Burhouse, 36, has converted an old storage room at his family’s wholesale business into a microbrewery.
And having spent the past six months setting up Magic Rock Brewery with brother Jonathan and head brewer Stuart Ross they are now producing five different beers.
Richard previously worked at family-run gemstone firm Rockshop Wholesale, at Tanyard Road, Oakes, but in 2009 set up an online beer distribution website.
MyBrewerytap.com is an online platform for people to buy world beers in the UK.
But after several years of managing the two businesses, Richard decided he wanted to brew his own beer and in February set up Magic Rock.
He said he is delighted with his new venture and is confident that people will enjoy their beers.
He said: “I’m really excited to get up in the morning and go to work.
“Magic Rock beers will be more contemporary and will be served in smaller 330ml bottles.
“We would like to see our beer in bars as much as real ale pubs, so that it appeals to younger people.
