A CAR dealership in Huddersfield is set to join the fun at an event to celebrate 100 years of Ford.
Polar Ford at St Andrew’s Road, Bradley Mills, will invite owners of class Ford vehicles to display their cars on Sunday, July 3.
The event, which is open to the public, will include prizes for the best presented vehicles.
Ford, which marked its 100th birthday on March 8, opened its first UK manufacturing plant in 1911 and was the first Ford company to be established outside of North America.
In 1928, Henry Ford oversaw the construction of the “Detroit of Europe” – a new British plant on the banks of the Thames at Dagenham. Its first vehicle – a Ford AA truck – rolled off the production lines in October, 1931.
John Leeman, regional director at Polar Ford, said: “We want to celebrate this rich heritage and invite local classic Ford owners and the public to our dealership.”
He added: “Whatever classic Ford you own – whether an Anglia, a Capri, a Cortina, an Escort or even a Model T – we look forward to welcoming you to celebrate this historic milestone.”
