A MUGGER grabbed a pensioner from behind and stole her bag in Cowlersely.

Huddersfield CID are appealing for witnesses following the robbery on Luton Street.

The 64-year old woman was walking at 7.20pm on Friday, June 17 when she was grabbed from behind in a bear hug.

The male attacker then snatched the woman's handbag before making off towards Windsor Road.

Police say the suspect is described as a white man, around 6ft tall and wearing dark clothing with a dark coloured scarf over the lower part of his face.
