A DEVELOPER wants to build 18 homes in the Colne Valley.
Kirklees Council planners will decide this week if S & G Kelly can build on land behind Banks Road in Linthwaite.
Dozens of residents have objected to the proposal to develop the grassland site.
The plan includes two semi-detached houses, four blocks of three flats and one block with four apartments. There would be two parking spaces per home.
Fifty-seven residents have written to Kirklees objecting to the proposed development.
Their complaints include that the new homes would impinge on the listed Linfit Hall; would lead to more traffic on Banks Road and would increase pressure on the village’s schools.
But Kirklees planners have recommended that the development gets the green light.
The council’s Huddersfield Planning Sub-committee will rule on the proposal at its monthly meeting at Huddersfield Town Hall from 9.15am on Thursday.
