Man fined after parking on Fixby pavement – then driving off when police officer approached

A MAN has been fined for obstructing a police officer.

Shafaq Ahmed had parked on a Fixby pavement blocking pedestrian access when a police officer approached.

Ahmed, 48, drove off as the police officer tried to issue a Fixed Penalty Notice.

Ahmed, of Halifax Old Road, yesterday pleaded guilty to the offence which happened on May 6 on Broomfield Road.

Huddersfield Magistrates Court fined Ahmed £30, ordered him to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
