Murder and suicide probe after couple found dead in Deighton flat are named

THEY were the couple no-one knew.

Police have now named the man and woman found dead at a house in Deighton.

West Yorkshire Police have confirmed that the bodies of Efias Rusukira and his wife, Grace, were found at their flat at Chalwood, Deighton, on Wednesday morning.

The couple were not well known in the area and are thought to have come from Zimbabwe.

Although people who live nearby had seen them, no-one knew them well.

Police broke their way into the flat and are understood to have found Mrs Rusukira on the bed and Mr Rusukira hanging from the loft.

It is thought the police probe has focussed on the possibility that Mr Rusukira had murdered his wife before taking his own life.

Mr Rusukira was 50 and Mrs Rusukira was 47.

The couple’s flat is still sealed off with police tape and a bunch of flowers has been left outside as a tribute.

Neighbour Jason Bushell only moved into the neighbourhood a week ago.

The 28-year-old said: "I can’t believe it. I’m looking out the window all the time.
