Springwood woman Justina Vaitkute in court over rail passenger theft

A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of stealing from a rail passenger.

Magistrates heard that Justina Vaitkute, of Springwood Hall Gardens, Springwood, found a lost wallet at Huddersfield train station.

But instead of handing it in, the 20-year-old instead kept the card and used it buy a train ticket for herself.

Vaitkute pleaded not guilty to the charges of theft and fraud.

She elected to have her case tried in a crown court.

Vaitkute’s next hearing will be before Huddersfield magistrates on November 4 at 11am.

Her bail was conditional that she attends appointments with the drug treatment (DIP) service.
