PHILANDERER Andrew Lindo was seen by friends and family as a doting father in a “perfect little family”.
But in reality, he was an “inveterate and accomplished liar” leading a double life.
Lindo set up home with Marie Stewart after “sweeping her off her feet” and lived an apparently normal life with their two young children.
But he was having a string of affairs with other women.
He would tell them elaborate stories of how he was a struggling single father who had been deserted by the mother of his children.
And he would even transform his family home into a “bachelor pad”, with no sign of Miss Stewart’s existence, when these women visited.
At one point he was in a relationship with two work colleagues at the same time, while he was living with Miss Stewart.
There is also an allegation that he was involved with a 15-year-old girl.
After brutally killing Miss Stewart, he went to collect his latest lover, Angela Rylance, and spent the night with her just two floors above where his fiancee’s body was left in a suitcase.
As he constructed a detailed smokescreen through Facebook and text messages to con the world that Miss Stewart had left him and their baby son and toddler daughter, he convinced Miss Rylance he was planning a new life with her.
Lindo was working as a musician in local bands, including one called Battered Soul, and in September, 2008, he began working as a freelance tutor at a private music school in the village of Birdwell, close to the M1 near Barnsley.
He was one of a number of vocal tutors at the Take 2 centre, which is run by husband and wife directors Susan and Geoff Whitfield. Both described him as reliable.
Mrs Whitfield said he was “very charming. Very confident. Very chatty”.
Her husband agreed, calling him “a ladies’ man.”
