HUDDERSFIELD heavy metal band Evile have launched their own energy drink.

While Red Bull may give you wings, Evile give you Serpent Venom.

The energy boosting beverage comes as the band, fronted by Meltham born brothers Ol and Matt Drake, head out on tour in support of their third album, Five Serpent’s Teeth, which is released on Monday.

Lead guitarist Ol Drake, said he was “surprised” and “intrigued” when the band’s record label, Earache, told them they were being honoured with a branded drink ahead of their new album and UK tour.

But he revealed hometown fans would have to travel if they wanted to get their hands on a can of the exclusive drink as it is not on general sale.

He said: “We’ve had loads made and we’re going to give them away at our pre-release shows in London, Birmingham and the hometown one at the Picturedrome, Holmfirth.

“They’re also for sale at (London’s) Crobar.”

Evile are playing a special album release show at Holmfirth’s Picturedrome venue on Sunday, October 2.
