MUSIC will feature strongly in tomorrow’s celebrations in Greenhead Park

The newly-restored bandstand will play host to Bandstand Marathon as part of the official re-opening event.

Seven bands will perform, including Sellers International Youth Band, Phoenix New Orleans Parade and ska rock band Wobbly Bob.

The free event which gets under way at 1pm includes a whole host of family entertainment, as well as an opening ceremony by the lakeside.

The line-up ranges from ska musicians to brass bands, street theatre to skate boarders.

A special Birthday Banquet will be taking place in the park’s lower field, where families are encouraged to bring picnics and enjoy an afternoon of shows and performances.

The official opening ceremony will take place by the lake at dusk, triggering a firework display to bring the day’s celebrations to a close.
