A SUCCESSFUL businesswoman based in Huddersfield hopes her success story will inspire other women.

Jo Haigh is head of Corporate Finance Services, which is part of Cleckheaton-based chartered accountancy firm Clough & Co.

She will be speaking at the Women’s Business Lunch in Bradford today, a quarterly women-only networking event.

Jo, who lives in Denby Dale, is recognised as one of the UK’s most influential corporate finance specialists.

In the last 20 years she has bought and sold more than 300 companies and has a growing portfolio of published books.

Jo will tell her own success story to inspire and encourage other business women.

She said: “Twelve to 15% of UK businesses are majority-owned by women.

“It’s a statistic that shows both the great strides that women have made in business and how many obstacles still remain in a culture where 90% of the top roles are held by men.”

The lunch takes place at the Great Victoria Hotel.
