BEER enthusiasts have been enjoying their fill of real ale at Huddersfield’s largest brew festival.

The Huddersfield Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) Oktoberfest was at the Sikh Leisure Centre, Springwood.

The annual event which featured over 150 traditionally made beers, ciders and perries, was opened by Colne Valley MP Jason McCartney and Kirklees Deputy Mayor Christine Iredale.

The event, based on the legendary Munich Oktoberfest, included ales from local breweries including Golcar Brewery, The Rat and Ratchet, Chapel Hill, The Nook, Holmfirth, and newcomers Magic Rock, of Oakes, and The Sportsman Brewery, on Fitzwilliam Street.

The festival also had ales from further afield including beers from 12 Scottish and eight Welsh breweries and this year’s area in focus, Kent.
