A HUDDERSFIELD audience will get the chance to talk politics with a feisty young MP already tipped as a future Labour leader.
Lisa Nandy, 32, who became MP for Wigan at the 2010 General Election, has been described by a leading commentator as “independently-minded and politically precocious with a reassuring tendency to defy the whips”.
She has called for major changes to the British political system, to make it more responsive to people’s concerns.
She is the latest high-profile politician to take part in a series of events at the University of Huddersfield and will appear on Friday, October 28, in conversation with leading labour historian Prof John Shepherd before she fields questions from the audience.
Her session at the University of Huddersfield takes place in its George Buckley Lecture Theatre at 5.30pm.
Admission is free and open to all, but places should be reserved in advance.
