A TAKEAWAY worker was robbed at gunpoint.

The man was working at Crunchy Chicken in Moldgreen when he was robbed by a gang of four teenagers – one of them armed with what police believe was a gun.

Now detectives are hunting all four youths and have appealed for help.

They believe at least two of the robbers had been seen previously close to the takeaway.

Huddersfield CID are appealing for witnesses after the takeaway was robbed on Sunday evening.

At around 6.40pm, three teenagers went into Crunchy Chicken on Broad Lane in Moldgreen while a fourth stood watch outside.

While one of the teenagers ordered some food, a second approached the till and made demands for cash.

He threatened the 22-year-old man who was working in the takeaway at the time with what appeared to have been a gun.

The group made off with around £100 in takings from the till.

The shop assistant was not harmed.

The suspects are described as being four youths aged 15 to 18 years of age.

One was white, around 5ft 8in tall, slim and freckly with short brown hair and a small forehead. He wore a black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

A second was of mixed race, around 6ft tall with short black curly hair.

He wore a distinctive black hooded top with a large picture of the WWE Wrestler The Rock on the front.

A third suspect was black, around 5ft tall, slim and wore a black hooded top that had a small white logo on it.

The fourth suspect could only be described as wearing all dark clothing.

A spokesman said: “It is believed that at least two of the suspects regularly visit the Broad Lane area of Moldgreen and could be well known in the area.”

Police are now appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact Det Con Simon Thomas at Huddersfield CID on 01484 436665 or 0845 6060606. Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
