Ashford Campbell and Risk's X Factor dream is over - with video

IT has been a rollercoaster journey – but it’s over now.

Last night Huddersfield’s Ashford Campbell and his boyband The Risk were knocked out of the X Factor after they failed to impress with their rendition of Shalamar’s ‘A Night to Remember’.

Also booted out of the show was Johnny Robinson.

The band received positive comments from the judges after their Saturday night performance but failed to attract the viewers’ votes.

It meant the end of the road for Ashford, who had tried to win the contest as a solo singer and also as a member of the boyband Nu Vibe.

It has been a nerve-wracking experience every single week for Ashford’s family who had again taken their seats in the audience to watch him perform in the live sing-offs.

Ashford’s mum Bernadette was in London to watch the show along with Ashford’s brother, Sunderland striker Fraizer Campbell, who was with his girlfriend Emma Normington.

Also cheering Ashford on was his aunt Bev Higgins, from Batley, and great aunt Sheila Higgins, from Dewsbury.

Bernadette, who works for Kirklees College, said: "We sit about three rows behind the judges’ panel with the families of the other band members.
