Huddersfield's Jordan Higo on his time in X Factor and what the future holds

BOOT CAMP and JUDGE’S HOUSE

It was at the bootcamp stage Jordan met Ashford and were put into Nu Vibe.

Jordan says: “Because we’re from the same place it gave us something to talk about and you had a familiar accent there. It was good to have another northerner there.”

The real five-star celebrity treatment started when Nu Vibe were flown out to judge and mentor Tulisa’s ‘house’ on the Greek island of Mykonos.

Jordan says: “Each group had a villa and a pool each. It was a bit of the celebrity lifestyle ... but it was really tiring. It’s just solid practice after practice.”

As well as mentoring, N-Dubz singer Tulisa cooked roast dinners for the boys. He also met singer Jessie J, who helped Tulisa select the final acts for the live shows.

“She was brilliant,” Jordan added. “Off the camera she was great, she came to talk to us and give us advice.”

NU VIBE

Jordan knew his main chance was if he was put into a band. I always thought if I get through then it’d be great if they put me in a band they formed,” he said. “But it was weird to start with because I didn’t know any of them, I’d sat next to Bradley on the coach to Bootcamp.”

Once they were put together the lads did a tour of their own homes.

“We had to get to know each other so we went on a road trip, started in Birmingham at Richard’s home and then came up here and the lads stayed with me and Ashford. Then we all went to Liverpool to stay at Bradley’s then to London to Stefan’s house.

“It was a great chance to bond together and work out what type of music we were all into.”

ON THE LIVE SHOWS AND THE FINAL 5

“It’s weird because they’re my friends and I know them off-stage. I know what’s going on behind the stage and off-camera. The competition is so tight, everyone is as good as each other but better at different things.”

Asked to pick a winner, Jordan couldn’t decide on one – but three acts get his vote.

“Marcus, Little Mix and Misha B are my favourites. I got to know Little Mix and they’re great, girlbands don’t usually do very well so it would be great for the show if they won.

“Misha B is like a British Nicki Minaj, she’s right with music and Marcus is a brilliant performer and a great guy.”
