ANOTHER cut price store has opened in Huddersfield today.

Home Bargains served its first customers at the Gallagher Retail Park in Waterloo.

The retailer – which already has a shop on New Street – says it has invested approximately £500,000 on the new store, bringing up to 30 new jobs to the area.

The arrival of the discount retailer means the retail park is now finally full.

Aldi, M&S Simply Food, McDonalds and Pets at Home were already at the site, which opened in 2008.

The company has agreed a 15-year lease with developer contractor Worthington Properties

Operations director Joe Morris said they planned to purchase further stores directly from the landlords.

He said: “Home Bargains is excited to be opening this new store in Huddersfield, building further on the success across West Yorkshire.”

The company now has more than 250 stores after it went on an expansion programme which included the acquisition of 30 former Woolworths outlets from the administrator.
