Huds X Factor lads single is number one
X FACTOR’S Huddersfield lads Ashford Campbell and Jordan Higo are number 1 chart toppers on the charity single Wishing on a Star.
The Huddersfield pair feature on this year’s X Factor’s charity single, alongside past and present contestants and former X Factor groups JLS and One Direction.
And the cover of the Rose Royce hit, which was running at number one in the mid-week official charts, took the all important top spot last night.
The single featuring Lowerhouses singer Ashford – a member of the boyband The Risk – and Nu Vibe band member Jordan, of Crosland Moor, beat former X Factor runner-up Olly Murs’ single Dance With Me Tonight.
Jordan was busy with Nu Vibe in Birmingham at The Clothes Show Live when he heard the exciting news.
His mum, Bernadette, told the Examiner: “It’s been fantastic. They are booked up till the end of January and then they have the X Factor tour starting in March.
“He said they had great fun making the single and was excited it was tipped for number one – and now it’s made it.
“He’s going from gig to gig at the moment with two or three a night from turning on Christmas nights to nightclub events.
