A ROAD junction in Golcar is to be made safer.
Kirklees Council workers are to start work early in the New Year in Leymoor Road, to improve safety for pedestrians and drivers.
The news comes just days after an accident in which, luckily, no-one was hurt.
The work is opposite the junction with Moorcroft Avenue – and is a junction without pavements, leading to the Banks estate.
Earlier this month, a car skidded at the junction and ploughed into a fence and hedge at the side of a house.
Local councillor Hilary Richards says safety problems are complicated by the fact there is a bus stop at the junction.
Now the area is set to get new pavements and new road markings to avoid accidents.
