Lindley mum Jane Potter’s 1,300 mile run in daughter’s memory

A MUM whose baby girl was stillborn is raising money to help bereaved families cope with the financial burden of losing a child.

Jane and Tim Potter, of Lindley, lost their baby Rebecca in 2004.

Now, Jane will be pounding the streets in a series of charity runs – running the equivalent distance from Huddersfield to Rome to raise cash for charity.

Jane said: “We lost Rebecca at 22 weeks and it was a devastating time”.

The couple, who have three other children, later crossed paths with Rachael and Neil Salmon, who lost their three-year-old boy Joseph in 2005.

Jane added: “We have become really good friends with Rachael and Neil.

“Our children go to the same school and although Rebecca died before the Salmon’s charity was set up I want to give something to support them in their efforts to help others deal with the financial burden of losing a child.”

Jane, who is an Occupational Therapist for Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust, added: “I have been running for a few years.
