TWO LANDMARK pubs have experienced a contrast in fortunes.
In Marsh, The Junction is set to re-open just a few months after it closed down.
But at Scammonden, the famous Nont Sarah’s pub on New Hey Road has been boarded up and on the market after closing down.
The Junction closed at the end of September after licensees Lee and Emily Scott called it a day, blaming rising prices by pub owner Enterprise Inns.
The pair held a farewell party to mark their nine years behind the bar and dozens of loyal punters drank the premises dry as they said farewell to their landlords.
But just three months on, the couple are back at the Westbourne Road-based watering hole after they struck a new deal with Enterprise.
Work has begun on revamping the popular pub and it is thought it will open its doors to drinkers before the end of the month.
