A MAN is due to appear in court charged with criminal damage and assault.

Mohammed Ashfaq, of Mountjoy Road in Edgerton, allegedly damaged an internal wall belonging to Thermakote Ltd.

He is also alleged to have assaulted Richard Bacon on July 29.

Ashfaq, 44, denies both charges.

Huddersfield magistrates were told that he had been due to stand trial in December, but that the trial had to be delayed after he was taken to hospital suffering from chest pains.

The magistrates agreed to set Ashfaq’s trial for Wednesday March 7.

He was granted unconditional bail.
