HUDDERSFIELD Parish Church has welcomed two new priests.
Yesterday the Bishop of Pontefract, the Right Rev Tony Robinson licensed the Rev Marion Russell and the Rev Dr Anna Wallis to work at St Peter’s Church.
The Rev Wallis is no stranger to the town nor the church as she served her curacy in the parish before moving to Sheffield.
As she works in the family business during the week, she will serve as Associate Priest in the parish.
The Rev Russell has most recently been attached to Halifax Minster and spent time previously as Chaplain to Trinity School, Halifax.
Although born in Scotland, she has spent many years in England and was ordained through Blackburn Diocese.
The Rev Canon Simon Moore is looking forward to having colleagues at the parish church. He said: “Many hands make light work and it is good to share the load and bounce ideas off others during this day to day life of the church”.
