Huddersfield couple win dream Caribbean holiday in Facebook competition

WHEN nurse Louise Murfin suffered a badly-broken leg, wedding plans had to be put on hold.

The injury left Louise, of Brackenhall, off work for nine months and scuppered the chances of her and fiance Steven Bennett building up their savings.

But now the couple are to have a dream wedding – on a sun-kissed Caribbean island.

The pair are one of 16 couples who will tie the knot on May 16 on 16 different isles in the Bahamas.

They won the dream package in a competition run on Facebook by the Bahamas tourist authorities and travel company Kuoni.

Now Louise and Steven, of Longhill Road, are planning their trip to the little-known island of Acklins.

They fly out on May 12 for the week-long trip and will marry on May 16, with Louise wearing a designer gown from Benjamin Roberts and with wedding rings donated by Goldsmiths.

They will be joined by best friends Yvonne and Stuart Flitton as the prize is for four to enjoy the luxury trip. Louise’s mum Barbara is also hoping to fly out for the ceremony, along with friends.

Louise, who works for NHS Direct, said: “It is a dream come true.
