THERE’S some good news for TV stars The Hairy Bikers.

The Colne Valley meals on wheels service, which the cooking pair championed last year, has expanded to a new village.

Volunteers served up sausage and mash with spotted dick to pensioners in Golcar yesterday.

The new service is an expansion of Slaithwaite Meals on Wheels which featured in two episodes of BBC series The Hairy Bikers last year.

Millions of viewers watched celebrity chefs Dave Myers and Si King help businesswomen in the village set up the service to help older people.

Sisters Sharon Higginbotham and Lynn Ainley, who have helped run the programme in Slaithwaite, began a new meals on wheels service in Golcar yesterday.

“It went really well,” said Sharon. “We had eight clients and they were delighted with their meals.”
