Burglars steal Paddock boy’s 8th birthday gift as police investigate a spate of crimes in the area
BURGLARS targeted a Paddock home and left a string of devastation.
A mother-of-one was left upset when a laptop containing images of her late boyfriend and father of her son was stolen during a raid on her house between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
And vandals have also targeted cars in the Paddock area – with five vehicles damaged last Friday and Saturday night.
The mother, who lives on Quarmby Road but does not want to be named, says the burglars also stole her son’s birthday money.
She said: “I cannot believe they could do this. They took my laptop which has got photos of my son’s dad on it. He died when my son was just two and those photos meant a lot.
“I’ve got some copies but not all of them.
“It was my son’s eighth birthday on Tuesday and they took his birthday and Christmas money too – about £85.”
The victim said she returned home to find the burglars had broken in by the kitchen window, smashing two panes of glass and damaging the door.
“I came home and everything was a mess, they’d taken things from the cupboards and thrown everything on the floor.
