A MAN was arrested on suspicion of murder in Huddersfield last night.
But police have admitted they have found no body.
They are looking for missing Huddersfield builder John Hay who vanished almost a week ago.
The hunt intensified yesterday when detectives arrested a 63-year-old man in Netherthong as police officers combed a smallholding there.
Police have also spent several hours searching land around Honley Livery Stables, off Meltham Road.
They are looking for Mr Hay but have found no sign of him.
The huge hunt was stepped up yesterday at the two Huddersfield locations and another in East Yorkshire.
Mr Hay, of Fenay Bridge, was last seen on Thursday March 15 in the Hessle area of Hull – close to the landmark Humber Bridge.
But when his van was found abandoned close to the bridge, fears grew for his safety.
Yesterday teams of police officers arrived to carry out a detailed search of a house and smallholding off Upper Hagg Road, between Thongsbridge and Netherthong.
Officers were also carrying out a search of land near to Honley Livery Stables, off Meltham Road.
Police put out another appeal for information on the whereabouts of Mr Hay.
