TENANTS have been invited to have their say on controversial changes to council housing.

The Government has given local authorities more power to vary the length of tenancies.

The changes could lead to the end of so-called “council houses for life”.

Kirklees Council has organised two drop-in consultation events about the change.

They will take place at Dewsbury Town Hall from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday May 9 and Huddersfield Town Hall from 10am to 3pm on Thursday June 14.
