A MAN who burgled a neighbour’s flat and subjected a couple to a distressing ordeal on a bus has been jailed again.
Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday that Robert Walton, of no fixed abode, was on licence from prison for wounding with intent when he broke into a flat in Hillhouse Lane, Huddersfield, last autumn.
He stole bags containing clothing and photographs of the occupier’s baby.
And last night he was in jail after a court heard he was a “three strikes” burglar who had committed previous crimes.
The court heard before he was arrested in connection with the Hillhouse break-in, Walton, 24, was involved in what a judge described as “loutish” behaviour on the bus.
Prosecutor Jonathan Sharp told the court how Walton and another man sat next to the teenage couple on the top deck of the bus last December and Walton started making obnoxious proposals to the girl.
Mr Sharp said Walton grabbed the 16-year-old girl round the waist and sexually touched her as the couple tried to get off and he then demanded the man’s phone.
Walton was pushed away and the couple managed to get down the stairs of the bus.
