IT is famous across the world as the birthplace of rugby league.
And this weekend, The George Hotel in Huddersfield was back welcoming fans to the sport’s Heritage Centre.
The centre inside the hotel had been shut down for weeks.
But at the weekend it opened again with rugby commentator Mike “Stevo” Stevenson showing around guests – including Catalans supporters, who had been in Yorkshire to see their team play Leeds Rhinos.
The hotel’s new owners, Licensed Solutions, had helped get the centre ready for its re-opening.
