POLICE are investigating allegations of postal vote fraud.

The probe was launched this week into alleged fraud in the Dewsbury South ward ahead of Thursday’s Kirklees Council election.

A police spokesman said yesterday: “We have received an allegation of election fraud taking place in the Dewsbury South ward and are currently investigating the report.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.”
