THE sentencing of hit-andrun killer Peter Renshaw was delayed this morning.

Renshaw, 22, of Emley, was expecting a long jail sentence when he appeared at Leeds Crown Court.

He had pleaded guilty to causing the death of six-year-old Owen Wightman in Wakefield while driving at 57mph in a 30 mph zone.

He also admitted failing to stop and failing to report the accident.

But the hearing today was adjourned because the judge, Geoffrey Marson QC, was ill.
The sentencing will now take place at a later date.
