Specialist nurses at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust have won a national prize for their work with breast cancer patients.
The team scooped the Best Patient Support Initiative category at the first Breast Cancer Care Nursing Network Awards and took home £1,000.
Women from around the area have also been praising the award-winning programme.
Carol Randerson, 63, from Lepton was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram.
She underwent surgery and was given the all clear in July 2011, two months after diagnosis.
She said: “The cancer was tiny, so small I would not have felt it.
“You get that sinking feeling when you are diagnosed because you don’t think it will happen to you.
“But on this course you never feel alone in it.
“Everyone who is there is in the same boat and we all get a lot out of it.
“There is so much different information coming from different people there is always something someone says that you hear and can relate to.
“I always felt upbeat and positive throughout it all.”
