A PADDOCK teenager was struck with a metal pipe during a terrifying robbery at his home.

A gang of at least four men forced their way into the house on Church Street when the victim – an 18-year-old man – opened the door to a man posing as a takeaway delivery man.

As soon as he opened the door he was immediately struck with the pipe and forced back inside the house.

The suspects then woke two other people in the home and demanded property from all three.

The victim of the assault was not seriously injured.

They left with a mobile phone after damaging several items in the house, including a television, crockery and light fittings.

The attack took place at 11pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said: “Two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old woman were in their beds at a house on Church Street when there was a knock at their door.

“One of the 18-year-olds answered the door and was immediately forced back inside the house by a group of between four and six men.

“The suspects assaulted the 18-year-old before making a search of the house and demanding property from all three occupants.”

Both raiders are Asian men in their mid- 20s.

The one with the metal pipe was around 6ft tall, of medium build with a black beard.

He also wore dark clothing, a hat and gloves.

One of his accomplices is about 5ft 5ins tall and slim with long black hair. He wore a black cap and clothing, and white Adidas trainers with blue stripes.

The other suspects were all wearing balaclavas.
