Gas Club
FIVE football fans accused of brawling in a Huddersfield club have appeared in court – months after a judge dropped their case.
The men face charges of affray following an incident at the Gas Club after the Huddersfield Town v Preston North End game on October 22.
Huddersfield Town supporters Nathan Wilson, 35, of Tofts Grove in Brighouse, and Robert Whitehead, 46, of Dean Street in Oakes appeared before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.
They were joined in court by Preston fans Andrew Riley, 43, of Higher Walton, Mark Wilkinson, 30, of Penwortham and David Hough, 36, of Longley Bridge.
The group had appeared before District Judge Marie Mallon in February.
The Crown Prosecution Service asked for the case to be adjourned to allow video evidence to be provided by police.
However the judge refused the application and discharged the case.
Yesterday magistrates were told that the case had been resurrected, with all of the relevant paperwork now ready for the matter to progress.
