HUDDERSFIELD Town have a new star signing on the wing.

After moving up a flight in football with promotion to the Championship, the club has now announced a partnership with airline Virgin Atlantic.

The link-up is a major coup for the club and underlines its determination to break into international markets.

Town commercial director Sean Jarvis and international development manager Ajin Abraham joined James Rowan and Claire Barlow, of Virgin Atlantic, at Manchester Airport to toast the new deal in front of one of the airline’s impressive Airbus A330-300.

Virgin Atlantic, who have bases in the north of England that enable the carrier to take business and leisure customers around the world, will use its extensive network to help Town raise its profile overseas.

Virgin Atlantic was formed by Richard Branson in 1984 and has gone on to become one of the world’s leading airline brands.

Mr Jarvis said: “I’m absolutely delighted to announce the new partnership with Virgin Atlantic.

“Everyone at the football club is incredibly excited to work alongside such a global brand and pioneer in its industry and I think it is a testament to the ambitions and growth of Huddersfield Town that Virgin Atlantic has come on board with us.
