A LOWERHOUSES man accused of involvement in a drive-by shooting incident in Newsome has denied being the gunman.
Kevin Wilson, 36, of Oakenbank Crescent, is alleged to have fired at Godwin Bartholomew from his silver Lexus after being assaulted during a confrontation in the car park of Lidl in March.
Giving evidence to a jury at Bradford Crown Court yesterday, Wilson said he had heard the bang in the Ruth Street area of Newsome that afternoon, but he insisted he was not in possession of any kind real or imitation gun.
He conceded that he had a “beef” with Mr Bartholomew, but he pointed out that he had not pulled a gun out when he was assaulted by Mr Bartholomew in the car park minutes earlier.
During cross-examination Wilson also denied having anything to do with the disappearance of his Lexus vehicle at the time the police were investigating the alleged shooting.
Wilson has denied charges of affray and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The trial continues.
