Jury in multi-million pound Brighouse family fraud trial sent out to consider verdicts

A JURY has been sent out to consider verdicts over four people accused over a multi-million pound fraud.

The jurors at Bradford Crown Court have spent weeks hearing evidence against the four, said to be involved in a so-called Ponzi investment scheme, which targeted ex-pats living in Mallorca.

Brighouse man John Hirst, 61, has admitted involvement in the scheme.

But his ex wife Linda, 62, and her daughter Zoe Waite, 36, both from Surrey, have denied allegations of money laundering.

So too has Hirst's solicitor son, Daniel, 35, of Leeds.

Former accountant Richard Pollett, 70, of Dorset, has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to defraud investors.
