AN ERROR by a boater left Huddersfield Narrow Canal drained today.

The boater failed to properly close a lock on the canal through Milnsbridge and it drained water out of a section.

That meant the Canals and Rivers Trust had to stop boaters using the waterway.

Engineers are on site to pump water from the River Colne into the canal but it is expected to take several hours.
