A BLEARY-eyed tenant at a luxury apartments complex has hit out about overnight building work going on until 1am.
Liam Cockfield, 27, says residents had to endure three nights of disruption at Titanic Mill in Linthwaite.
Builders kept residents awake until the early hours – and complaints fell on deaf ears.
Mr Cockfield, who works as an administrator, said the noise was due to building work being carried out at the mill’s Titanic Spa.
Mr Cockfield confronted builders and was told they had been asked to carry out the work on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights between 10pm and 1am.
He e-mailed the mill’s managing agents Village Estates, based at Saltaire, near Bradford, but received no reply.
Mr Cockfield told the Examiner it wasn’t fair that the lives of residents were disrupted for the benefit of the spa business.
“We have people who need to get up for work as well as elderly people and children here and it’s just unacceptable to be working until 1am,” he said.
“I got the work stopped on Wednesday night and the builder was very apologetic but said he had been instructed to carry out the work between 10pm and 1am.
“I’ve e-mailed the management company but not had any response.”
Mr Cockfield said the situation was all the more galling because the management company had recently introduced strict rules for tenants.
