MARSDEN fire crews were called to two road accidents in the space of two hours.

A woman in her 20s had to be cut free from her car after it landed on its side. The crash happened in Manchester Road, Marsden at around 5.25pm yesterday.

The woman was taken to hospital with possible spinal injuries.

A fire brigade spokesman from Marsden said: “She was trapped in her vehicle and we arrived some time before the ambulance crews. We stabilised the vehicle and once the paramedics arrived, we cut her out of the back of the vehicle.

“She was on a long board and could have suffered spinal injuries.”

Crews had earlier attended a crash in Carrs Road, Marsden when a Mitsubishi Shogun crashed into a wall.

The crash happened at around 3.50pm and caused the vehicle to become lodged in a dangerous position. No-one was injured.
