FIFTEEN football fans appeared before magistrates yesterday in connection with mass brawls in Huddersfield town centre.

The fans appeared at Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with various roles in fights between fans of Leeds United, Bradford City and Huddersfield Town around the town centre and on the tracks and platforms of Huddersfield Railway Station, on May 19.

Jack Harley, 19, of Ingram Close, Leeds, is charged with violent disorder, affray and running on the train tracks.

Andrew Hamblin, 20, of Woodman Close, Reading, and Jordan Coyle, 20, of Church Street, Batley, are accused of violent disorder.

Nine teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are charged with one or more offences including violent disorder, affray and running on the railway tracks.

Harley, Hamblin and Coyle together with the nine youths, aged 15 to 17, were bailed to appear at Leeds Crown Court on December 13.

Charges against Jacob Brewer, 19, of Southleigh Garth, Leeds, and a 17-year-old were dropped.
