Noisebusters wade in to give Paddock a peaceful night

A NOISEBUSTING team halted a Huddersfield party – after complaints from neighbours.

And now the party organiser faces possible court action after the early-hours swoop on a flat in Paddock.

Kirklees Council’s night time noise officers seized TVs and stereo equipment from the flat following repeated requests to reduce noise from a party last Saturday.

It was the latest in a series of operations by the team, which deals with tens of calls each week about music blaring from houses and burglar alarms ringing out.

The Paddock incident happened in the early hours and the officers responded promptly to complaints from neighbours about the party in a block of flats.

An abatement notice was served after the party organiser repeatedly ignored requests to reduce the noise. It made it a criminal offence if the noise persisted.

A council spokesman said: “The party continued and a warrant was obtained.

“We spoke to a clerk of the Kirklees Magistrates’ Court and then visited the home of a magistrate to explain the situation.

“The warrant was issued and officers went into the flat to seize TVs and stereo equipment.
