A CHILD murderer has been killed in prison.

Subhan Anwar , who was jailed for the murder of Deighton toddler Sanam Navsarka, in February 2009 was found dead at Long Lartin Prison, Worcestershire, yesterday, the Prison Service has confirmed.

A Prison Service spokesperson said: "An incident at HMP Long Lartin on Thursday 14 February resulted in the death of prisoner Subhan Anwar.

"Two prisoners are now in police custody and the matter is being investigated by police."

Anwar was jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 23 years for torturing and murdering his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter, Sanam, at their home on Riddings Road.

Little Sanam was battered and at the time time of her death police discovered 107 separate injuries to her tiny body including broken arms and legs which went untreated. Police released the picture above showing her injuries.

Zahbeena Navsarka , then 21, was sentenced to nine years in jail after she was cleared of her daughter's murder but found guilty of Sanam's manslaughter.

Sentencing Anwar Judge Peter Thornton QC said: "It is almost unbelievable the pain and anguish she must have suffered, not just once or twice, but repeatedly and persistently over weeks at your cruel and selfish hands."
