HULL City fans have appealed for calm ahead of today’s protest in Huddersfield.

Fans will march from the railway station to the library holding a banner saying ‘We Are Not Criminals’ in protest at police restrictions imposed for this afternoon’s fixture.

They will be joined by some Terriers fans who are angry at what they see as “draconian” action by West Yorkshire Police to limit away supporters to just 1,700 tickets.

Hull supporters will also be escorted to the ground from Hartshead Moor services on the M62.

Hull fans have been encouraged to boycott the match with just 400 tickets of the allocation being sold.

Protest leaders have appealed to those taking part in the march to behave.

A statement from Hull City Official Supporters Club said: “We want all Tigers and Terriers fans, to demonstrate exemplary behaviour.

“The banner will spell it out, ‘We Are Not Criminals’, let’s prove it to everyone on Saturday.”
