GIANT sculptures were installed at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for a UK first.
A crane was brought in to help staff site brass works by the late Zurich-based artist Hans Josephsohn. Click below to see more pictures from the installation.
The artist, who died last year, was renowned for his figures – many of which hark back to ancient statues.
The works will be on show in the Bretton park’s 18th-century formal terrace and garden.
The exhibition is due to open on May 11 and will be the first major indoor and outdoor exhibition of Josephsohn’s work in the country.
Clare Lilley, director of programme at the Sculpture Park, said: “There is an incredible immediacy about Josephsohn’s sculptures. He worked from models who were always friends and worked directly in plaster which is then cast in brass.
“These are earthy, sensual intimate figures with huge integrity”.
The operation to hoist the figures into place and site them took several hours.
