A HUDDERSFIELD man has been killed in a car crash in Hoylandswaine.

The 24-year-old man was driving a Peugeot on the A629, High Lee Lane in the rural village yesterday when it collided with a grey Jaguar, travelling in the opposite direction, towards Oxspring,

The Peugeot driver sustained fatal injuries in the collision, which happened at 6.10pm.

A passenger in the Peugeot, a 52-year-old man from Huddersfield, has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Jaguar, a 49-year-old woman from Huddersfield, was taken to hospital with chest pain and cuts and bruises.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or witnessed either vehicle shortly befor the collision, is urged to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 923 of 23 April.
