A MAN has appeared in court accused of selling fake designer goods.

Gavin Brammah, of Green Lane in Meltham, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He faces 24 charges of offering for sale goods bearing a false trademark.

The 34-year-old was in court yesterday as his girlfriend Danielle Louise Fisher was told that she faces crown court on a string of similar charges.

Fisher, 26, is alleged to have set up Lindley-based boutique Plan B as a front to sell counterfeit goods.

It has not yet been revealed whether Brammah had any involvement with the Lidget Street business.

Miles Barker, prosecuting for West Yorkshire Trading Standards, said that Brammah sold high-end clothing, jewellery and other items.

These included Ugg boots, Pandora and Tiffany & Co jewellery, handbags by Louis Vuitton and Chanel, Jack Wills hoodies, Nike trainers, candles by Jo Malone and MAC makeup.

The prosecutor said that the items would have been worth £30,000 had they been the genuine article.

The alleged offences took place in Huddersfield on March 2.

Brammah gave no indication as to what his plea will be to the charges.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction and told Brammah that his first appearance at Leeds Crown Court will be on May 22.

He was granted unconditional bail.

Fisher, of Grisedale Avenue in Birkby, will appear at the court on the same date.

She faces 23 charges of selling fake goods at the now defunct shop.

Fisher is also accused of four counts of making false representations to obtain almost £5,000 of housing benefit.

She is also yet to enter a plea on any of the charges.

Both Fisher and Brammah, who appeared in court separately, were granted unconditional bail.
