A MAN has appeared in court after hitting another vehicle with his car.

Michael Shaw, of Longwood Gate, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

The 23-year-old admitted charges of careless driving and using a vehicle without a licence or insurance

Alex Bozman, prosecuting, said that the incident happened on May 24 on Thornhill Road in Marsh.

Mr Bozman said that Shaw was leaving a supermarket when he pulled out without paying attention to the give way sign.

He ploughed straight into a Volvo, causing damage to the vehicle.

Shaw, who was not represented, claimed that the car came flying towards him.

Magistrates fined him £135 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

They also endorsed Shaw’s licence with eight penalty points.
