POLICE are hunting five men after a vicious brawl in Huddersfield which left a pensioner in hospital.

And officers from British Transport Police ( BTP ) believe these five men are key suspects in their inquiry.

They are appealing for the public’s help to identify the men they wish to speak to in relation to a fight that took place at Huddersfield railway station .

Other passengers ran for safety as the men fought in a subway and on the platform.

Officers have now released CCTV images of the men who they believe will have information which can help the investigation into the incident, which took place on Saturday, April 27, at 8.15pm.

Det Con Jacqui Wilson, investigating officer, said: “Two groups of men were alighting a train on platform four at the station when they became involved in a verbal altercation.

“Both groups then moved through the subway onto platform one. A fight then broke out between six members of the two groups at the top of the stairs on platform one, resulting in a 66-year-old man from Hebden Bridge being assaulted.

“The man lost consciousness for a short period of time and was conveyed to hospital where he underwent treatment for minor head injuries, including a cut to his ear and bruising to his face.

“Inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible and, today, I am releasing CCTV images of five men I’d like to identify and speak to as I believe they will have key information which can assist the inquiry.

“We have information to suggest that the men may be from the Lancashire area.

“If you know their identity or whereabouts, please call BTP straight away.”
